95th Artistry

My fingers are always about something; either playfully massaging a charcoal pencil or moving a brush. It’s a beautiful habit that is now my second nature. Always with my pallet of paint under the stair case bringing out colors of my imagination about the world. Creating abstract images that are a visual evidence of the subjects that consume my thought process. I am Ndagire Shebah from Uganda- a self-taught contemporary visual/abstract artist with twenty years of cumulative experience. My art career with a very humble beginning at the age seven is nearest to the truth. I was in primary two. Our teacher, whose face remains visible in my mind asked us to draw a homestead and I made the most beautiful picture. This left her in awe and resulted in the unintended consequence of starting my journey in art. I aim to evoke a sense of movement and energy reflecting my own experience and interpretations of the environment around me.
